Contest Entrant Checklist
Posted by MSA on December 1, 2020
In addition to all the many glider- and trailer-related items you should bring, here are a few important ones that sometimes are missed. Note that by far the best way to deal with the first three is to make images of them and email these to the Contest Manager once you have completed online registration.
- Pilot license
- Proof of SSA membership (valid through the end of the contest)
- Proof of current glider liability insurance
- Emergency tracking device – an ELT (emergency locator transmitter), or a satellite tracker (e.g. SPOT or InReach). Note that a PLB (personal locator beacon) does not satisfy this requirement.
- FLARM-compatible anti-collision device (required for National contests; encouraged for all contests)
